The Role

  • Manage the overall functions of the Purchasing Department and a team of Purchasers in processing all material and plant requisitions from site through our online software system
  • Negotiate all bulk orders on large volume and value items and ensure competitive purchasing on all of our materials and plant spend.
  • Build new and strengthen existing relationships with our supply chain partners.
  • Actively source new products and suppliers to ensure that the company is able to supply its sites and customers with the best and most competitive products.
  • Liaise with the Contracts Managers / QS and Project Managers in procurement lookahead’s and scheduling of upcoming purchase requirements.
  • Technical appraisal of specifications and evaluation of supply chain offerings for technical, quality and commercial comparison.

The Candidate

  • You will have at least 5 years experience at Purchasing Manager level and at least 15 years industry experience.
  • You will be degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying / Engineering or construction related discipline.
  • You will be commercially astute and have a strong  business acumen.
  • You will be highly organised and able to manage a team of people .
  • You will be highly motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
  • You will have strong numeracy and IT skills.
